L'warm-up is a step not to be neglected before starting a ballet class. It allows dancers to gently prepare their bodies for the physical effort required to perform all the dance movements without injury.
During the warm-up, dancers generally wear warm clothing and loose-fitting clothing such as a T-shirt and warm-up trousers. You can also wear leggings to keep your joints warm.
A good maintenance of your dancewear will prolong its life. To avoid premature wear of your dancewear and half-pieces, we advise you to follow the washing instructions on the labels. Generally speaking, we recommend machine washing at 30°C on a delicate programme. In addition, for the most fragile fabrics, you can wash them by hand or use a washing net. Overall, we recommend that you avoid using a tumble dryer to avoid weakening the fibres. Instead, dry your clothes in the open air, away from direct sunlight, to avoid discolouration.
Concerning half-pointIf you're going to be doing a lot of training, remember to leave them out to dry between training sessions to limit moisture. We recommend alternating between two pairs of half-pieces if you train several times a week.
