I What are dance shoes?

For your Latin dance classes and training sessions, don't neglect your feet, and don't opt for dress shoes or trainers, even the best-known brands!

Dance sneakers may look like sports trainers, but make no mistake, these are real, highly technical dance shoes.

As well as your Latin dance shoes, having a pair of trainers for training and even for certain performances is a real must for amateur and professional dancers.

Dance sneakers have special dance suede or PU soles designed for a perfect pirouette and extra support and cushioning. Lace-up models are the most popular (rather than slip-on models) because they give you more stability. That's why our selection of dance trainers includes a wide range of lace-up models.

Bi-Soles or full soles allow dancers to stretch the toes and arch the foot.

These soles are also very effective at protecting feet from impact with the ground, unlike the soles of jazz boots.

High or low, choose from our selection, tested and approved by our leading dancers.

II Who are Dance Sneakers for?

Versatility is the first characteristic of a dance trainer, so you can wear them for modern jazz, any style of ballroom dance, street dance, and even for dance fitness or gym classes!

Even if you're not the type of dancer who wears trainers on stage, you can still wear them during lessons or rehearsals.

If you're a ballroom dancer who always dances in high-heeled dance shoes, you'll probably want something different at some point. You may be surprised to see this type of dancer twirling around in traditional ballroom dance attire with dance trainers during training sessions. But don't overlook the importance of looking after your feet. Trainers give you that cushioning that you won't get if you dance barefoot or with classic brand-name trainers.

III How do I choose my dance trainers?

The key criteria to look for when buying a pair of dance trainers!

All pairs of dance shoes should protect your feet from injury and blisters, while allowing your feet to breathe. You probably have your own preferences for your pair of dance shoes, but the criteria below are listed specifically for dance trainers:

  • Breathable
  • arch support
  • flexible
  • slight
  • comfortable
  • heel cushioning

We have put together a large selection of dance sneakers the slimmest and lightest with a contemporary design.
