Born in Cannes, Philippe Solano studied classical dance at the Centre Choréa Danse in Grasse under Claudine Andréo, during which time he won several gold medals in a number of competitions. At the age of 17, he joined the young company Europa Danse where he danced the title role in Thierry Malandin's Mercure, Ana Maria Steckelman's Pulcinella and Léonide Massine's Parade. He then joined the Ballet de l'Opéra national de Bordeaux and will be dancing a number of ballets from Charles Jude's classical repertoire.

Winner of the famous Youth America Grand Prix international competition, he went on to receive scholarships to study in North America at the San Francisco Ballet School and Jacob's Pillow. It was at the end of these various opportunities that Nina Ananiashvili noticed him and invited him to join her as a soloist in the National Ballet of Georgia in Tbilisi. He danced many roles in the great ballets of the repertoire, including George Balanchine's "Tarantella", "The Nutcracker", "Giselle" and "Swan Lake" by Alexei Fadeyechev, as well as "Dreams about Japan" by Alexei Ratmansky.

He first came to public attention in 2012 when he took part in the TV show The best Dance on M6, finishing in 2nd place. He continued his career as a dancer with Angel Corella Ballet in Barcelona, where he went on to do a major tour of the United States, before joining the prestigious Paris Opera Ballet under the direction of Brigitte Lefèvre. Two years later, he returned to Spain, this time to Madrid, in the famous company of the choreographer Victor Ullate and will be performing his great ballets including 'Jaleos', 'Samsara', 'El sur', 'Amor Brujo' and 'Bolero'.

Since 2015, it has been part of the Capitole Ballet de Toulouse under the direction of Kader Belarbi, where he was quickly promoted to Demi-soliste in 2016 and then Soliste in March 2019. He has danced both supporting and leading roles in classical, neo-classical and contemporary ballets by such great choreographers as Rudolf Nureyev, Carolyn Carlson, Thierry Malandain, Roland Petit, Angelin Preljocaj, William Forsythe, Oleg Vinogradov, Maurice Béjart, Serge Lifar, John Neumeier, David Dawson and Kader Belarbi.

Alongside his career as a dancer, Philippe Solano is also invited to teach classical dance at dance schools and festivals.

For the past year, Philippe has been working on a brand new choreography project and has now finalised his creation, a 10-minute ballet entitled "Three W.O.A.L" in the neoclassical style.

Philippe has always had a passion for choreography, but never had the time to devote to it as a full-time dancer. It was during the initial Covid-19 confinement that he was able to begin this superb experiment and imagine his project with great passion and tireless commitment. A lover of the neoclassical dance style, he likes to make the danced movement speak through the body, pushing back its own limits, an abstract way of conveying emotion and travel to the spectator.

This ballet was created with 3 dancers and colleagues from the Ballet du Capitole; Kayo Nakazato, Solène Monnereau and Tiphaine Prévost, who have also put a lot of energy and time into this project. But what does 'Three W.O.A.L' mean? For a long time this title has been a mystery to the public, but Philippe Solano is finally unveiling it. "Three Women Of A Life".

Although Philippe's creation is intended to be abstract, leaving the spectator's imagination free to run wild, there is nevertheless a 'hidden' meaning that inspired this young choreographer. One man, three women, like three very different love relationships. Passionate but destructive love, light and friendly love, and finally powerful and true love, the relationships that drive a man's life.

Philippe also dances in the piece, which was a huge challenge for him because it's very difficult to be a dancer and a choreographer at the same time.

For the music, the choreographer called on a young composer by the name of Clément Marty, who perfectly understood Philippe's musical wishes and produced a remarkable piece of work. Jérémy Leydier was responsible for video production, editing and photography. Philippe became a Balletto Dance Shop Ambassador 1 year ago and wears many of the shop's dance items in his daily life as a professional dancer, so it was only natural that he should think of Balletto Dance Shop for his costumes.

Despite the current climate, Philippe Solano's ballet 'Three W.O.A.L' is not guaranteed a live performance, which is why a long video teaser is being presented to the public, in the hope that it will arouse the curiosity to come and enjoy this ballet in its entirety and on stage!
